The couple were both in their 40s, and had met "through the wonder of modern technology" (online dating). They had a lot in common, like riding motorcycles and such. The groom looked great and the bride looked beautiful. They picked out the elements of their ceremony from my Build Your Own Ceremony templates I had sent them, so the ceremony was just to their liking.
I had suggested we use a few lines of Samoan in their ceremony in honor of the bride, who although she didn't look it - was of partial Samoan heritage. As I am of partial Hawaiian background, I welcomed the challenge of learning a few words of another Polynesian country.
Aso fiafia u fuuapa aiaina - A happy day of blessings. I practiced this particular line over & over...
The groom teared up during the ceremony & told me afterwards that he didn't remember much of what I had said. That's OK, I give each bridal couple a decorative, commemorative copy of their ceremony.
A lovely evening & another happy couple married by Weddings with Aloha!
